US Bishop Joseph Strickland on the apparition of the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje:
“What I have experienced in these few days is the controversy for me is gone. I know that people have questions and people seem to even be antagonistic toward Medjugorje. But you know, I just believe that Mary has visited here. It fits her pattern. It’s a beautiful part of the world, beautiful people full of faith. And you know, from what I’ve learned, that’s why she came here, and people would say, why would she come to this place? And to me, that’s helped to reinforce that it’s authentic. I mean, I have not done a study, but I believe that Mary has spoken here. And the message, whether it’s here and Fatima or Lourdes or any of the different apparitions, some approved, some not for various reasons, but Mary is very consistent, she’s a good Mother and she keeps repeating herself: Follow her Son.”
